Iowa-Des Moines Supply Inc. is a lean company with no chain of command.  All IDMS employees have direct contact with the President, Bill Weidmaier.  The benefits of this style of organization-unlike larger distributors-are: (1) decisions are made quickly, and (2) when there is an issue, it is resolved immediately. 

At Iowa-Des Moines Supply, we have very few problems, subsequently, close to 100% of the energy and effort of our staff goes toward servicing our customers.  Every distributor talks about great service, but you WILL receive great service from IDMS.

Deliveries:

• IDMS will deliver your orders complete 96% of the time.  In other words, when you need product, you can expect it, eliminating any need to carry excess inventory.  This eliminates frustration with your employees when not receiving expected product, and allows them to focus their attention on their responsibilities.

• IDMS orders are 100% accurate when delivered.  Due to our internal procedures, you can anticipate receiving your order correct.  This eliminates any disruption for your staff.

• You will appreciate 100% trouble-free invoices… eliminating frustration in your accounting department, and wasted time.

• Orders only need to be placed one day prior to your area’s delivery truck, resulting in just-in-time inventory practices.

• All IDMS personnel are available for emergency deliveries.

Inventory Management:

• Iowa-Des Moines Supply account managers can be as involved in your inventory management as desired.  Some accounts prefer our account managers and IDMS to accept full responsibility for maintaining adequate inventory levels, while other customers prefer IDMS personnel to work in concert with their purchasing department in inventory management.  IDMS is flexible in partnering with our accounts in inventory management to reduce your employee involvement.

• IDMS is willing to source, purchase, and warehouse specific products for you at no additional cost.  Over 40% of our inventory is special stocked as back up inventory for our customers.  In some situations this allows IDMS to purchase larger volume for cost savings to our customers.

• For customers who wish to have their name or logo printed on products requiring larger order quantities, IDMS will warehouse and deliver to the customer as needed.

• Iowa-Des Moines Supply’s core business is supplies.  One of our key responsibilities to our customers is to source new manufacturers and evaluate their products against our current supplier.  We attend national trade shows as a source for new manufacturers, and IDMS    is a member of a national buying group.  We work diligently to provide our customers the greatest value based on quality and price.

• IDMS also strives to offer products with varying price points to better meet the needs of our customers.
• IDMS purchases from over 500 manufacturers.  We stay informed of new and improved products, allowing us to offer products that can solve your problems.
